Frequently
Asked Questions
Q) I get the
error QUERYERROR followed by java.lang.NumberFormatException?
A) This is a known problem related to some network
operator/phone combinations. This is known to be a problem
with Series 60 on UK T-Mobile/Orange and P800 on UK O2. This
is a problem with the JAVA implementation on the phones.
[For the
technically inclined, this problem is related to incorrect
content length headers being sent from the network operator's
gateway. These are not interpreted correctly by the Symbian
Java Http libraries. As I don't have any control over the
network operator gateway nor the Java libraries I am unable
to fix this problem.] Q) I
am unable to connect.
A) These
applications require an Internet access point. This is
not the same as a WAP access point which usually does not
allow access to the general internet. Please note you will
also need a WAP access point to initially download the
program (This is usually already on your phone). You can ask
your phone network operator to send Internet Access point
configuration settings to your phone or you can set them
yourself via the various phone manufacturers' web sites...
Noka
- Select Internet Settings for Applications
Motorola
- Select Internet
Sony
Ericsson - Select Email
You might
also check your phone network operator's web site as they may
also have an online system to set up your phone access points.
Q)
SendFax says the fax is sent but it is never received.
A) SendFax sends via the TPC.INT free fax network.
Occasionally, the fax server for the area you are sending to
may not be working. This is not a fault of the program but a
fault in the TPC.INT network over which I have no control.
Q) The
SendSMS 'From' option doesn't always work and the received SMS
says it comes from another number.
A) The Clickatell 'From' field isn't supported by all
destination networks.
